Pain’s Pendulum – on display from 5th to 26th February 2026, at Brixton Tate Library, London, during LGBTQ+ History Month; part of the art exhibition ‘UNDER OUR SKIN” curated by Xavier White.

Pain’s Pendulum

Most people experience a time in their lives when they suffer intense, “SCREAMING” pain. Often carried beneath the surface, unseen, ongoing, and deeply felt. Physical, emotional or mental: shaped by loss, illness, rejection or fear.

The artist, has considered pain as part of a larger movement. Like a pendulum, and life itself, shifting between states. Pain can be overwhelming, but it is not the whole picture, and not the whole of the motion: change remains possible. Moments, periods, and times of ease do return.

2026, Acrylic on Canvas £370.

A3 prints on fine art paper £55.

Loose Nuts Limited Edition Print and Time for Rebirth Original Painting can both be seen on display in the exhibition “Is That a Boy’s Toy?” at the Tate Library, Brixton, London. This successful exhibition created by the artist Xavier White is open until 27th February 2025.

A playful yet thought-provoking work juxtaposing the grandeur of Michelangelo’s David with the innocence of childhood toys. As David descends from the heavens, he confronts the chaos of a world plagued by greed, power struggles, and environmental collapse. His fall onto a toy box serves as both a symbol of collaboration and a challenge to societal norms, particularly the rigid boundaries of gendered play.

Through a dreamlike composition and subtle humor, the piece invites the viewer to reflect on individuality, celebrate freedom of expression, and consider the collective responsibility we share in shaping a sustainable future. With its fusion of classical and modern symbolism, the work inspires dialogue about unity and the urgent need to address global challenges together.
